Revitalisation of Prague riverside
We are bringing an inspirational idea of how to revitalize the Prague embankment under Letná, turning it into a lively and attractive space. Right now, this area is important historically and has some notable landmarks, but it’s not used much and isn’t accessible to the public. The main activity here is heavy traffic, which takes priority.
We’re focusing on improving the Edvard Beneš embankment from Občanská plovárna to the Štefaniková Bridge. We’re breaking it down into three parts: First – The area around the Civic Swimming Pool. Second – The iron pier at the lower level of the embankment, plus making traffic calmer below the park Letenské sady. Third – The area around Rudolfova štola, an ancient water tunnel. These parts will be connected by a new promenade at the upper level of the embankment. Our plan includes removing a car lane, expanding the pedestrian zone, adding a bike path, and increasing green spaces. This will help link the upper embankment with Letenské sady and make it easier to access.
