Harmony with Black Plywood

Our project in Horoušánky demonstrates that we don’t need to shy away from unusual shades. We aimed to design and create an interior that transforms a three-sided glass villa into a pleasant living space without losing its flair or hallmark of minimalism. By using dark surfaces, we achieved a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere that retains a touch of luxury. To prevent the interior from appearing too dark, we incorporated contrasts with light white and grey elements. This combination of seemingly incompatible elements seamlessly blends modern aesthetic living with the warmth of a home.

The core of the house, comprising the kitchen and living room, is particularly inviting. This warmth is primarily due to the use of wood, specifically dark brown stained plywood combined with dark sheet metal. The cozy atmosphere is enhanced by a corner bio-fireplace and artificial, concealed LED lighting illuminating the ceiling. The other rooms feature shades of white and grey, creating a contrasting yet harmonious whole. To maintain the overall aesthetic, we opted for handle-less cabinets. Privacy in the glass villa is ensured with front window blinds, and semi-transparent curtains contribute to the cozy home feel. Hidden LED strips provide artificial lighting, illuminating the ceilings and adding an intimate, mysterious ambiance to the interior.
